RISHAB DAHIYA SPEAKS (Reader's Post) !!!

            Reader's BLOG POST -->>

This post is sent to me by Rishab Dahiya - my senior here in Bharati Vidyapeeth. Click here - RISHAB DAHIYA to follow him on twitter. Rishab Dahiya - You can say him as DJ of Rand De Basanti. He is the dude of our college. I was disappointed when I met him for the first time but as we kept meeting again and again, I found him as the most interesting person of our college. He is a passionate and a hard-working boy. He wants to be a director of Bollywood movies and I have a big trust on him that he will be a director some day. He watches 2 to 3 films daily. He had also worked as assistant director and had also made some small movies. I remember the one he made on the importance of plants for our college fest. He is wonderful. He is different. I find myself similar to him. For his passion, he passes sleepless night while I pass sleepless night for my passion of writing. There are many things common between both of us but I am not writing more as its time to read what he had shared with You and Me. So let's proceed.

FOREWORD BY RISHAB :-

Well I m not a writer like Veeru, but when he asked me to send him something written by me, I tried to write and wrote 360 words, which he told me were not enough, and asked me to make them around 500. That's okay I did it. I didn't knew what I am gonna write about, so I wrote about the changes which changed my life forever after coming from a small town to a big metropolitan city like Delhi.

A lot of things change when we move to a new place, specially when we move to a completely alien environment, everything changes from your thinking to your existence. you try to change things, but you cannot, then you try to change yourself, sometimes it becomes worst experience and sometimes best.

So here I wrote about what was my experience, and the way my life is changing.

NO STARS IN THE SKY !!!

PEOPLE SAY THEY HAVE FOUND EVERYTHING IN THIS BIG CITY, AND THEY MEAN EVERYTHING - MONEY, FAME, LOVE, EVERYTHING IN THIS BIG CITY. THIS BIG CITY ATTRACTS MILLIONS OF EYES FILLED WITH AMBITIONS, WHO WANT TO MAKE IT BIG, WHO WANTS TO DO SOMETHING GREAT, AND WHO WANTS TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING BIG IN LIFE. BUT THERE IS ONE THING WHICH THEY WILL NOT FIND HERE IN BIG CITIES, THERE ARE NO STARS IN THIS BIG MUMBAI.

WHEN I WAS YOUNG I USED TO LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN, SOMEWHERE NEAR
BANARAS, I USED TO PLAY WITH FRIENDS, HAD FUN, WAS GOOD IN STUDIES,
USED TO SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH FAMILY. WE USED TO WATCH TV TOGETHER, AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NO CABLE CONNECTION SO WE USED TO WATCH FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE, AND ON SUNDAY MORNING RANGOLI ON DD1. AS THEY SAY FAMILY THAT EATS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER, WE USED TO PREPARE SPECIAL MEAL ON SUNDAYS, AND USED TO GO OUT FOR PICNICS. BUT THE BEST TIME OF THE DAY WAS WHEN ME MY FATHER AND MY YOUNGER BROTHER USED TO SLEEP ON THE ROOF FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT WATCHING THE BLUE SKY TWINKLING ABOVE US. AND WE USED TO SPOT THE VARIOUS STARS AND CONSTELLATIONS.WELL THOSE WERE THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE.

ONE FINE DAY WE SHIFTED TO DELHI AND ALL THAT I HAD WAS LOST. THAT BIG CITY HAD EATEN UP ALL THE TIME WE HAD. I NEVER SAW THE SAME SKY AGAIN, SAME STARS AGAIN AND SAME MOON AGAIN. EVERYTHING WAS LOST IN THE BUSY LIFE, PEOPLE RUNNING OUT THERE FOR VARIOUS MATERIALISTIC THINGS. AT FIRST I LIKED THE NEW BIG CITY, I GOT NEW THINGS, CABLE TV WITH
HUNDREDS OF CHANNELS, VIDEO GAMES, SHOPPING COMPLEXES, MALLS,
MULTIPLEXES, AND ALL THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE BROUGHT UP ON THE NAME OF DEVELOPMENT. I REMEMBER THE TIME WHEN I USED TO GO TO LOCAL SMALL TOWN MARKETS IN REWARI, A SMALL TOWN WHERE MY NANA-NANI LIVE. AND WE USED TO GO TO THOSE SHOPS WHERE WE WERE THE PERMANENT CUSTOMERS AND THE SHOPKEEPER USED TO KNOW US BY NAME AND KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT. WHEN I REMEMBER THAT GOOD OLD TIME, I FIND THAT THOSE WERE THE DAYS WHICH HAVE LEFT THOSE SWEET MEMORIES IN MY HEART, AND THOSE ARE JUST MEMORIES NOW.

NOW AFTER 10 YEARS, I AM IN MUMBAI, THERE IS NOT MUCH
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO CITIES AND PEOPLE ARE BUSY HERE TOO,
RUNNING AFTER MATERIALISTIC THINGS. SOMETIMES I LOOK AT MYSELF STANDING IN FRONT OF A MIRROR, AND THINK ABOUT MY PAST AND PRESENT, AND I FIND THAT EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED. EARLIER I USED TO SLEEP, NOW I SPEND INSOMANIAC NIGHTS AND THINK ABOUT STUFF WHICH I USED TO. ONE THINK IS NOT IMPORTANT AT ALL, NOW I HAVE TENSIONS IN MY LIFE AND THE PEACE IS GONE.TENSION ABOUT FUTURE, THE CAREER AND A LOT OF THINGS, WHICH WONT LET ME SLEEP.

YESTERDAY I WENT OUT, IT WAS AROUND 2:30 MIDNIGHT AND LOOKED UP TO SKY, THERE WERE NO STARS THERE, ONLY DARK CLOUDS, JUST LIKE DEVIL LOOKING AT ME IN DISGUISE, SAYING 'EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED, AND THAT TIME WILL NEVER COME BACK'. I AM STILL IN SEARCH OF MY PAST WHERE THE STARS USED TO COMPANY ME IN MY LONELY PERIODS. HERE IN MUMBAI, I JUST HAVE TALL BUILDINGS TO ACCOMPANY ME WHICH HAS DARKNESS IN THE NIGHT TIMES BUT THESE STARS USED TO TWINKLE IN THE NIGHT TIME. I AM MISSING THE STARS SO MUCH AND HOPE ONE DAY THAT TIME WILL COME BACK WHEN I HAD REST, PEACE, SILENCE AND STARS IN MY LIFE.
Abhilash, in your style - Signing off with a pain and disgust of missing the stars in my life.

Thanks.
